a New Neon Look...

I know Bright colors are in right now.....so I decided to brave up and wear my
Neonish Pink Skirt to work. I purchased the skirt last year on the clearance rack at Target.
This is a picture of me in the skirt last year for Easter....

I've only worn it with White and I wanted to make it look more toned down for work.
(The picture was AFTER work--so that's why it is outfit only!)

I toned it down with grey, but decided this cute Tar-jay skirt might get worn quite a bit more this spring and summer!

I'm Proud to Be a Tennessee Vol!

Once again, I missed the actually day of Kelly's Korner's Show US your Life....But I wanted to show everyone my Alma Mater!

The University of Tennessee and Me were meant to be!

When you go to a college for Architecture, there are certain schools who have accredited programs.
I chose to apply to The University of Tennessee and Auburn, both of which are accredited.
I got my acceptance letter in the mail a month earlier than anticipated, just so happens that affected my now-Husband staying at UT for another year!

The Art+ Architecture Building....Where I lived for the 5 year Architecture Program.
The picture on the right is the interior of the building. There is an atrium with faculty offices spilling out into the space.

This is a picture of me at my desk in my Fifth Year Studio.

It never hurts that the Tennessee Lottery Scholarship started the year before I graduated high school, so staying in-state was a no-brainer!
Also during high school, I took many trips to Knoxville to tour the school. Attending some football games growing up helped seal the deal! : )

Click here for "famous" people that went to UT!

UT was a great school, I ended up meeting some of my best friends there (all of which were in the Architecture program with me)!

Although my College experience was heavy laden with Art+Architecture Building All-Nighters, cutting my fingers with Exacto knives (making models), calculating stair heights and square footages, and consuming all sorts of junk food as a "meal".

It was also filled with Best Friends, Going to Basketball Games, Football Games, having my own "desk" in studio on campus, learning to design, and great trips to the Potato Bar in Gibbs.

PS: We went to the UT vs Georgia game last Saturday! It was great going back and seeing all the changes on campus! We wandered in toured Ayres Hall on the Hill. Michael and I had a Math class together in Ayres.

A gift for baby Eliza

Eliza's mom Camille, is a long time friend of mine.
We meet in fifth grade and have been good friends ever sense.
I have some great memories with Camille.
From swimming to dressing our bitty babies up for a photo shoot!
Now Camille is having a real bitty baby of her own!
Her Mom was like my Mom and vice versa when we
stayed with each other.
So when my Mom and I were pondering on what to give Camille and Eliza,
Mom pulled a cute pink gown out of the "baby closet" (aka the baby closet is for family)!

I knew Camille loves a monogram, so of course we monogrammed everything! The blanket was a white rose minky fabric...so soft!

Camille,
We hope you and Eliza enjoy! We can't wait to meet her! : )

Beauty Secrets

Kelly's Korner Blog creates "Show us Your Life" Blog posts, this past Friday's was Beauty Secrets.
I didn't link up to the post, but thought it would be fun to show you my favorite beauty products.

beauty secrets:
I've listed some of my favorite beauty products, most of which you can find in local drugstores.
These products aren't secrets, but it may take the guess work out of your next trip to the beauty isles!

1. Makeup: Full & Soft Mascara by Maybelline. I've been using this mascara since high school and LOVE IT!
(Funny side note...when I was little I thought the Maybelline commericals said,
"Maybe she's born with it, or maybe it's Make-believe." ! haha)

 2. Moisturizers: I use two different moisturizers, one for warm months and one for winter. The lighter moisturizer I use was prescribed to me by a dermatologist. Purposes' Redness Reducing Moisturizer.
I can usually find the original Purpose Moisturizer at Walgreens, but I can only find this one at Target!
My skin gets really dry in the winter months, so I use a heavier moisturizer. I used to use Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing lotion, but that wasn't even cutting it this winter! So I went to a local drugstore and lucked up buying Olay's Active Hydrating Moisturizer! I love that it softens my skin instantly, but it does smell slightly like a baby product. I don't mind the smell because it helps my dry skin so much!

3. Face Wash: I use Cetaphil Facial Cleanser in the pump. I've also used Purpose brand face wash which works equally as well. I also use Neutragena's Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. It works well for everyday removal of eye makeup.

4. Hair: Pantene Restore Beautiful Lengths Conditioner (Breakage Defense) This conditioner is great! I have very...very fine straight hair and this doesn't seem to weigh my hair down! I use it sparingly, because little conditioner goes a long way. Oh and you can usually find good coupons for Pantene products, too!

5. Body (Tan in a bottle): My sister got me into this AWESOME product! Quick Tan by Body Drench. The tan looks real! You do need to use caution about WHERE you "tan" yourself. I usually use a tub/shower stall. Beware...you will need to clean it afterwards! But it looks great and is totally worth cleaning your tub because you won't be harming your skin in the long run! : )

I hope you find some of these products useful!
